Welcome to Nyansa Dua!

My name is Jahi Mirembe and I am the principal educator (i.e. tutor, teacher, coach, and advisor) for Nyansa Dua. Nyansa Dua is a phrase from the Akan people on the west coast of Africa. It means “Wisdom Tree”.

I am an African American who has a Mathematical Sciences degree from Stanford University. I have been successfully teaching math and computer science to students for over 20 years. I have had successful experience and enjoy working with students of all ages, genders, skill levels, and cultural backgrounds.

Consider these questions:

  • Do you know someone having difficulty with math or computer science?
  • Are you a student who has barely gotten by in a previous math or computer science course?
  • Does your child need to be challenged further or want to get a head start on the next class?

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then the educational services of Nyansa Dua can help.

We offer :

These services are applicable to any student who:

  • has weak skills and is struggling to keep up
  • is maintaining but doing mediocre work
  • is doing well and wants to do advanced work

We believe that anybody who puts in the work can succeed. So a big part of the teaching task is to help instill an “I can do it” attitude so that the student can put in the needed effort. Students get instruction that helps them to thoroughly understand a topic. Combining this understanding with their effort, they can then go on to do A+ work.

Though we encourage students to always do their best work, we strive to make learning enjoyable and fun, instead of obligatory drudgery. Students do their best work when they are relaxed and not feeling excessive stress.

So let us help you to increase confidence and skill level in the areas that you wish.
